Lightsaber Augmented Reality UI

Lightsaber AR UI/UX study
This project I made in Unity with Vuforia AR engine library. So all the renderings are realtime and this gave me the possibility to study real gaze based and gesture interaction patterns.
Phase 1 is about displaying simple graphics on focus showing the user that the object was detected. As the user gets closer, more graphics appear revealing the handle disassembly points.
Phase 2 uses same "detection" principle, but shows more specific UI for each of the parts of the handle. I let myself use more complex graphics just to fill the frame with eye catching stuff.
Phase 3 refers to using the Force to assemble a lightsaber in Star Wars universe. I used combination of Vuforia and Leap Motion in this study.
Phase 1
1st Interaction — Detection on focus
2d Interaction — More info on close up

"Detection" stage
"More info" stage
Phase 2
1st interaction — detection on focus
2d interaction — separate parts UI
Quick AR realtime reflections and depth of field study.
Phase 3
1st Interaction — Wireframe AR hilt rises up from the real one at a certain distance from the hand of the user.
2d Interaction — When the hand gets even more closer — the hilt explodes revealing it's parts and names.
3d Interaction — By pointing at each part the user gets the name translated from Star Wars type to english.
